This portraiture series seeks to explore the Muslim community of South Thailand and the women behind the veils. In the majority of Muslim communities the veil is enforced, however, this is not the case in South Thailand. The veil for these women is empowering as it adds rather than detracts from their power and agency over personal expression and this series seeks to tell their stories.
