Modern Muse is the cumulative summation of a yearlong project working alongside the drag queens of Chez Mado in Montreal Quebec. The series captures the backstage environments of the cabaret; using a large format camera to understand and explore the fluidity of these individual’s sexuality. The series explores how the individuals transformed themselves and sought to document the subjects when not performing, to capture their beauty and share moments rarely seen by the public. Intrigued by the notion of their unique and transformative sexuality, this series captures the subjects when not performing to add another dimension to their identities as performers.
